Tips
for using JetMate 3 and JetMate III
Installing
the program:
- There
are two software programs, located in separate directories, on
the JetMate 3 CD. Be sure to load the appropriate program for
your printer.
JetMate 3 (F:\STANDARD_RENA_PRINTERS) can be used
with Rena models: DA590/*606/*607/608/610/615, Envelope Imager I
(DA612) and Envelope Imager II (DA613).
*When using
JETMate3 with the DA606/607 printers, on an NT4/2000/XP
platform, please limit your font choices to "internal
printer fonts" only. Selecting True Type fonts will greatly
reduce your throughput and or may not print correctly.
Note: Although the "XPS\PS..." choices are listed,
there are numerous problems with JetMate 3 working with these
products. Therefore, we do not recommend using JetMate 3
with the XPS1000/2000 (PS1000/2000) printers.
JetMate III for the Imager III (F:\ENVELOPE_IMAGER_III)
can only be used with the Envelope Imager III.
- Be
sure to accept the “temporary serial number and activation
key” information, when you first install the program.
Immediately changing this information to your permanent
information will cause the program to display “non-valid
activation found” when you launch the program.
- Using
JetMate 3 “standard version”: Please be sure the HP DeskJet
500 and HP LaserJet III drivers are both loaded onto your
computer before attempting to use JetMate 3. These drivers can
be loaded from your original Windows System CD. They are not on
the JetMate CD.
- Using
JetMate III for the Imager III: Please be sure both Imager III
drivers (Rena Imager III and Rena Imager III memory overlay) are
loaded onto your computer. They must be loaded from the JetMate3
CD. They can be found in the following locations:
F:\ENVELOPE_IMAGER_III\95_98_ME
F:\ENVELOPE_IMAGER_III\NT_2000_XP
F: = Your CD ROM drive letter
Error
Messages:
When the customer tries to print. The
program displays the following error message:
- “Printer
driver <<HP LaserJet III>> has not been configured.
All true type fonts will be printed as graphics. See the HELP
file for further information.”
This error will occur when selecting a true type font, via the
“edit text box” window, if the HP LaserJet III driver has
not been loaded onto the PC. Please
load the HP LaserJet III driver from your original Windows
System CD.
- “Error
program C:/JetMate3 WM-01202B.pgm. Error 14 Line 58140.”
This error indicates that the HP LaserJet III driver has
not been loaded onto the computer. Please load the HP LaserJet
III driver from your original Windows System CD.
- “Are
you sure this is the correct printer driver? The driver should
be <<HP DeskJet 500>>.”
This error indicates that you are not choosing the correct
driver when printing from JetMate 3. You must choose the HP
DeskJet 500 as your printer driver when you print from JetMate3.
Note
for JetMate III: You
must choose the Rena Imager III driver (previously loaded from
your JetMate3 CD) when you print from JetMate III for the Imager
III.
Common
Problems/Solutions:
- “Not
able to print graphic or indicia.”
This problem will
occur if you do not have the correct printer drivers loaded or
if you are not choosing the correct printer driver from JetMate
when you print.
JetMate
III Solution: Make sure both the “Rena Imager III”
and “Rena Imager III memory overly” drivers loaded onto your
system. Make sure you are choosing the “Rena Imager III”
driver when printing from JetMate III.
Tip: You may want to set the “Rena Imager III”
driver as you default driver.
JetMate 3
Solution:
Make sure both the “HP DeskJet 500” and “HP LaserJet
III” drivers loaded onto your system. Make sure you are
choosing the “HP DeskJet 500” driver when printing from
JetMate3.
Tip: You may want to set the “HP DeskJet 500” driver
as you default driver.
- “When
printing from JetMate III;
Graphic
or indicia will not print if positioned near right side of
layout (envelope).”
This problem will occur if your paper size, found under
printer driver properties, is set too narrow. This problem is
most common when using the JetMate III program to print to the
Envelope Imager III from a Windows 95/98 system.
Solution:
The paper size (width), in both drivers, must be set at least as
wide as the form you are printing on.
Tip:
It is OK to set the paper size, within the printer drivers,
wider than the form you are using.
Example: In Windows 95/98 the default paper size for the “Rena
Imager III” and “Rena Imager III memory overlay” drivers
is “Custom” (500 x .01” = 5 inches). If you are trying to
print an indicia toward the right edge of a 9.5 inch wide
envelope (#10 envelope); set (choose) the paper size, within the
driver properties, as “3 in x 13”.
- "When
printing True Type Fonts, from Windows NT/2000/XP, with the
DA606/607 printer, the print head makes multiple movements per
line and the throughput is greatly reduced."
Depending on the EPROM versions in your printer you may also
experience "garbage printing" or "stair
stepped" lines. This is due to the limitations of these
older "line printer" models.
Solution: If possible, use an older operating
system (Windows 98) or limit your font choices to "internal
printer fonts" only.
Known
Program Problems:
-
Envelope Imager I/II (612/613), PS1000/2000, XPS1000/2000:
Printing in REV orientation causes the printer to feed without
printing, feed very slowly, not recognize material, show ??? on
display.
Solution:
Download “PATCH 2 for Version 3(Regular) from our web site http://www.renausa.com/JETMate/
This patch (file name: wm-0202b.pgm) will correct for this
problem in JetMate 3. Copy this file to the Jetmate 3 directory
- it replaces a file with the same name.
- Printer
displays "Font Loading Error" when printing any TT
font using JetMate 3. Data that is sent in this TT font
choice, is not properly printed or is not printed at all.
Solution:
Download “PATCH for Version 3 (Regular) from our web site http://www.renausa.com/JETMate/
This patch (file name: Wm-True.pgm) will correct for this
problem in JetMate 3. Copy the file to the Jetmate 3 directory -
it replaces a file with the same name.
-
The JetMate 3 PAUSE feature “Display message” is not working.
If you setup a pause using this feature, JetMate will
display the message “Printing paused” every time it meets
the criteria set, however, no data is sent to the printer. In
order to send data to the printer, all of the pauses must
acknowledged by hitting OK. Then the message “Printing is
complete Total items = …” is displayed. When you hit OK,
then the data is sent to the printer.
At this time, there is no correction to this problem.
-
JetMate 3
prints a Head Purge every 800
pieces, even though this feature is set to off.
At this time, there is no correction to this problem.
